Reuse Specialist- Merchandiser
Hours: 30 hs/ week
Rate: $18.50/ hr
Schedule: shift vary: Tue- 9-5:30, Wed 9:30-5:30, Thu/Fri- 9:30-7:30, Sat- 9:30-5:30

Summary of Position

The Reuse Specialist-Merchandiser at Art Salvage keeps product displays looking sharp and tidy, in addition to supporting the Reuse Specialist at the front counter by cashiering as scheduled.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Merchandise, stock and organize retail items as needed

  • Create and maintain retail signage

  • Be familiar with center pricing

  • Be familiar with the flow of materials to collaborate with the team regarding price changes, packaging needs and new displays

  • Greet customers professionally and warmly

  • Offer creative advice as requested by customers

  • Share the duties of cleaning with other staff

Additional Duties

  • Open/ close center as scheduled

  • Open and close till as scheduled

  • Retail cashiering with Square platform 

  • Answer the phone and assist customers

  • Schedule and accept material donations 

Qualifications

  • Passion for the Art Salvage mission

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Must be flexible and able to juggle multiple tasks 

  • Customer service and cashier experience preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent, + 2 years work experience

  • Strong work ethic and promptness 

  • Strong communication skills

  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of email, Google Drive and Google Docs

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
